  1. Tesla Roadster

I'm trying to compare power output to the ICE car, and these HP ratings are very similar, meaning the EV will be just as much fun as the ICE car. The AWD version will have more power, if you want it. It would be awesome if the AWD version had an option to turn off the front motor, for tootling...
  2. Tesla Roadster

I think battery capacity is how Audi does it, too. Battery capacity divided by efficiency. As the efficiency changes, so does range.
  3. Tesla Roadster

I'm android, so I don't use carplay. The built in route guidance in Audi is pretty good, albeit conservative at estimating range. I will often start a trip with an estimated 10% on arrival, only to finish with more than 20% in the battery (even across mountains). Better to be safe, I guess.

Forget fsd. Farting seats are mandatory. 😆
  5. Tesla Roadster

    Smarty pants? LOL
  6. Tesla Roadster

Fair enough. Thanks for the explanation. I drive an Audi EV, and the new software update has been much better about those issues. I'm hoping that the software in the 718EV is minimal.
  7. Tesla Roadster

You came into a Porsche EV forum to tell us you'll never buy a Porsche EV? Thanks for letting me know.
  8. Introductions & Welcome Thread 👋

Hello, all. I apologize, as I did not see the introduce yourself thread when I joined. I may be an american, but I've lived all over the place. My love of Porsche (see my username) started as a kid, when I lived in Salzburg for a year. I had an OG Boxster for a while. My family has all EVs, now...
  9. 718 EV Reviews (First Rides) Are Here

I think you have an error here, but maybe I'm reading another site wrong. The A6 e-tron battery has 180 cells, for ~100kwh of total storage (95 usable). I'm thinking the 718 will have 210 cells per _battery,_ or 21 cylindrical cells/module. If the batteries were identical in format, that would...
  10. Manufacturing plant for 718 EV assembly?

Lol. Unfortunately, that's every car, these days...
  11. Tesla Roadster

You're so right. You know what else weighs the same? The Chevy Bolt. Clearly, the Bolt, Model 3 and Cayman will all offer the exact same driving experience, because vehicle weight is all that matters.... 😔
  12. Tesla Roadster

Yes. So 300kg more than the gasser. Should be easy to make it handle well.
  13. Manufacturing plant for 718 EV assembly?

Not a huge fan. Maybe it'll look better IRL.
  14. 718 EV Boxster now 99% uncovered / uncamouflaged (as of Sept 10)

My Audi lease runs out in sept of 2028, which might be a great time to pick up a low mileage CPO Boxster EV. That's my plan. Or, European Delivery of _my_ Boxster EV, which would also be very nice....
  15. 718 EV Boxster now 99% uncovered / uncamouflaged (as of Sept 10)

IMHO, having one port in the rear is superior to having one on each side. In such a small car, it'll be easy to plug in, no matter which side the charger is on. The short SuperCharger cables are a problem, potentially, but that's on Tesla. As for accessibility, anything that makes things easier...
